West Hampstead and Kilburn transport campaigners have hit out at London's Tory Mayor Boris Johnson over TfL's weekend closures, which have been hitting residents and traders in NW6.

Today, as Boris visited West End Lane, campaigners and local Liberal Democrat councillors handed out leaflets and postcards to commuters making the point that passengers are stumping up a seven day charge for a five day service. Things are going to get worse from February when TfL completely shut down half of the North London Line.

Although many residents and tube passengers stopped to talk, Boris himself crossed the road to avoid the campaigners and their concerns.

Kilburn Councillor James King said, "It's time the Tory Mayor took some responsibility for this mess. NW6 residents and traders are really being hit hard and TfL needs to listen and act. The message is clear - the buck stops with Boris".
