Ed was joined by Liberal Democrat Local Government spokesperson, Ed Davey, to campaign against the Council Tax.

Ed Fordham has issued a warning to local house-owners.

Ed says "Labour want to bring in revaluation of property tax - they claim it will be income neutral. Be under no illusion, local residents here in Hampstead and Highgate will lose out.

"Nationally property values have leapt by 161% whilst round here in Camden they have gone up 365%.

"Freezing the revaluation - as Michael Howard is now pushing for - will only put off the problem.

"The only real solution is to scrap the unfair Council Tax, move away from a tax based on property value and bring in a local income tax as proposed by the Liberal Democrats. Across the County this would lift at least 6 million pensioners out of council tax payments and bring in a fair tax based on ability to pay."
